Where are the congestion black spots and what is the best course of action when there is a jam? The A3 is known quite widely as the 'Portsmouth Road' for the obvious reason that it's been the main route between London and the Hampshire port for a long time. The A3 passes many important town inside and out side of the M25 including Kingston Guildford, Haslemere, Petersfield before arriving at Portsmouth, a journey of around 66 miles.
